Occupation: Senior Physiotherapist
What are your professional interests/specialities? I am currently a generalist physiotherapist with a background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I love the variety of work that being a generalist affords me. From inpatient, outpatient, community/outreach, paediatrics and more, my clinical days are never the same. Also more recently my current role as a senior physiotherapist challenges me to lead a team and help shape our physiotherapy department to better serve the community. It’s pretty special to be able to give back to the town I grew up in.
Tell us, where are you from and how did you get to be a physiotherapist in the Pilbara region? I am a born and bred Hedland girl! After a few years in the city, a longing for home and a slow paced lifestyle bought me back and I’m so happy to be here.
What do you love about the Pilbara? The people, the landscape and the beautiful winter days! Nothing can ever compare.
Did you always want to be a physiotherapist? My youth was always filled with sport and I thought a career in the field would be exciting, so I decided physiotherapy would be a good option. Although when I learnt the full scope of a physiotherapist I quickly realised that working within the community would be a much better fit for me, and so here we are!
What are your passions? Travel! I love to be surrounded by mountains and exploring beautiful landscapes.
When you aren’t working, where will we find you? Likely somewhere in the sun with a good coffee in hand and surrounded by my family and friends.
