Overview:
This session will provide an overview of the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) process, available support services, the individual’s VAD journey, and the mandatory responsibilities of health professionals. It will also explore lived experiences from the past three years since VAD became a legal end-of-life option in Western Australia, with a focus on its impact on aged care homes.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Develop an understanding of the VAD process in WA.
2. Recognise mandatory roles and responsibilities.
3. Improve confidence in responding to questions or requests for support.
4. Develop an understanding of the cohort seeking access to VAD.
5. Exploration of VAD in practice.
6. Recognise support services available.
