An interdisciplinary approach to caring for people living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

28 October 2021 @ 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm

What is the impact of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) on a person’s health and wellbeing, and how might different health professionals and mental health practitioners work together in providing support, care, and therapies for people who are living with OCD?

This webinar will assist practitioners in gaining an understanding of the biological and environmental factors that increase the risk of developing OCD; the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of OCD; and specific therapies for treating OCD.

Join our interdisciplinary panel of experts as they share their insights on the importance of collaborative care and appropriate referrals when providing care for people with OCD. Our panel includes Dr Johanna Lynch (General Practitioner), Dr Celin Gelgec (Clinical Psychologist), Dr Scott Blair-West (Psychiatrist), and will be facilitated by Professor Stephen Trumble (General Practitioner).

Through an exploration of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) the webinar will provide participants with the opportunity to:
  • Outline biological and environmental factors that increase the risk of developing OCD along with comorbidities.
  • Discuss the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of OCD.
  • Outline therapies that are successful when treating OCD.
  • Elaborate on the importance of collaboration and appropriate referrals when providing care to people living with OCD.
