Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) invites you to join us for an event in Karratha on Tuesday 20 June 2023.

We will be joined by Vicki Durston, BCNA’s Director of Policy, Advocacy and Support Services, and enjoy a special online presentation by Dr Tonia Mezzini, Sexual Health Physician, for a conversation about non-hormonal options for managing menopausal symptoms in women post breast cancer diagnosis and ways you can assist your patients.

The event will bring together health professionals from Karratha and surrounding areas and will be an opportunity to hear about the work BCNA does and the services and resources we have available.

Time: 5.45pm for 6.00pm start – 9.00 pm (food & drinks from 6.00pm to 7.00pm; presentations from 7.00pm to 9.00pm)

Dr Tonia Mezzini:

Dr Tonia Mezzini is a leading Sexual Health Physician based in Adelaide, committed to helping people with a range of sexual, hormonal, vulval and reproductive health concerns.

With her level of expertise and caring approach, patients can feel assured they are being offered best practice, a tailored treatment approach and compassionate medical care.

Vicki Durston:

Vicki joined Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) – Australia’s leading voice for people affected by breast cancer – at the start of 2020.

As BCNA’s Director of Policy, Advocacy and Support Services, she brings extensive health leadership, governance, research, clinical and management experience – spanning 30 years.

Vicki is a registered nurse and gained a Master of Education in Leadership Policy and Change from Monash University in 2012. She has been appointed terms on a range of committees, including the Medicare Benefits Scheme Review Liaison Group, the Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network Taskforce, and the Australian Access to Breast Reconstruction Collaborative Group.

Vicki is passionate about ensuring healthcare consumers have a voice.

That philosophy is at the centre of everything she does in BCNA’s rigorous advocacy striving to improve the experience of Australians affected by breast cancer.

As a consumer-led organisation, BCNA seeks the voice of its consumers in ensuring its range of support services to support people affected by breast cancer remain dynamic and valuable.

These support services include BCNA’s Helpline and Online Network, podcasts and webcasts and Information Forums.
