Hepatitis C Case Finding | Online

Many people may not know their hepatitis C status or be aware that new treatments with minimal side effects and high cure rates are readily available in primary care settings.

This workshop will assist primary healthcare GPs, nurses, practice managers and practice staff in undertaking case finding for hepatitis C in their practice by:

• Identifying target populations

• Conducting searches to identify those patients

• Implementing systems to recall those patients back for testing or care

• Build stronger patient-practice relationships to enhance health outcomes for people living with hepatitis C

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Outline the importance of hepatitis C case finding and describe the role of primary care in case finding.

• Identify target populations for hepatitis C case finding in your practice.

• Describe a process to recall patients into your practice for hepatitis C testing and care.

• Identify available resources to support your practice in hepatitis C case finding.

 

Target Audience:

This course is open to all GPs, Nurses, and all primary care staff in Western Australia.

 

Accreditation

This training is equivalent to 1.5 CPD hours.

This webinar is in collaboration with the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia.
