DESCRIPTION:Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention is a 2-day workshop designed for professionals and para-professionals in the human services whose roles bring them into regular contact with people at risk of suicide. \n\nThis workshop aims to help participants:\nGain an understanding of the problem of suicide\nIdentify suicide risk\nProvide a framework for risk assessment and intervention\nDevelop appropriate intervention skills\nUnderstand the limits to confidentiality\nUnderstand the importance of consultation\nGain an understanding of self-harming behavior\nGain an understanding of the link between mental disorders and suicidal behaviors\nUnderstand the importance of postvention\n\nParticipants are encouraged to consider the suitability of the course content and the potential personal impact on themselves before registering. Register HERE. \nDepartment of Education staff\, other agency and non-Government organisation staff registering for this event should register using the Department of Education Professional Learning Information System (PLIS) online calendar\, \nPlease ensure you complete the registration process by generating an e-ticket for\nprinting. \n\nDepartment of Education staff use their existing login and password.\nOther agency and non-Government organisation staff use their current ‘P number’ or set up an account by following the prompts\, confirming email and then select the event you wish to attend.\nGenerate an e-ticket for printing to ensure you have completed the registration process.\nExperiencing difficulties with the registration process?
