SUMMARY:Palliative Care ECHO 2024 | Interactive virtual mentoring sessions via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:ECHO programs offer free interactive online training bringing health professionals and primary care together to share knowledge\, ideas\, and experiences\, fostering a friendly supportive environment. These monthly sessions run for an hour from 11.00am to 12.00pm WA and are open to all health care staff including Nursing\, Allied health\, GP’s\, Community health and Indigenous health workers.  \nPalliative Care ECHO is a series of interactive virtual mentoring sessions that addresses a range of palliative care topics. DESCRIPTION:PRESENTERS\nDonna Larsen  – Wound Management Nurse Practitioner\, Royal Perth Hospital\nBeth Sperring – Clinical Nurse Consultant Plastic Surgery Telehealth\, Royal Perth Hospital \nTopics for the study day will include wound healing and assessment; identification of acute and chronic wound infection and treatment; biofilm based wound management; wound hygiene; dressing selection; traumatic wounds; plastic surgery considerations; leg ulcers; the high risk foot; and case studies. Also discussed will be future trends in wound management. There will be two practical workshops on wound debridement and topical negative pressure wound therapy.
