DESCRIPTION:Advance Care Planning is making plans that cover our care\, lifestyle\, health and finances for the last part of our lives. By working out what we want\, we get to have a say about our end of life as well as making things easier on those around us. \nWe have six free online Advance Care Planning workshops scheduled for the coming months. Each will cover information on what’s involved in Advance Care Planning\, how to get started\, and how to talk with your loved ones about your end-of-life wishes. These workshops are suitable for any community members regardless of age\, health or background. You don’t need any prior knowledge of Advance Care Planning to take part. And thanks to funding from the WA Department of Health\, these workshops are free for anyone living in WA. \nHow does it work? \nRegistration is essential and via Eventbrite. After you register\, we will send you a resource pack that you need to participate in the workshop. DESCRIPTION:The Mind Body Well Eating Disorder Masterclass series offers targeted professional development webinars for Allied Health and Medical practitioners who provide therapy for people experiencing eating and body image concerns and eating disorders. The sessions are suitable for all therapists regardless of experience\, however they will assume general knowledge of eating disorder diagnosis and treatment options. \nEach session will be presented by an experienced therapist from the Mind Body Well team\, or an invited guest – who will explore the topic through a Health at Every Size® lens\, reflecting inclusive and respectful therapeutic approaches which are both evidence based and client centred.\nThe Masterclasses will be conducted live online via Zoom\, and recordings will be available for viewing for one month following the session for those who are registered but unable to attend live. \nAN INTRODUCTION TO BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER\nLive session has passed – RECORDING AVAILABLE \nMasterclass #1 will provide an introduction to Body Dysmorphic disorder\, including assessment and differential diagnosis from other mental health concerns. Common treatment approaches will be introduced\, and this webinar will be a pre-requisite for offer a follow up webinar which the presenter will further explore CBT for Body Dysmorphic Disorder. \nMANAGING RISK IN PRIVATE PRACTICE EATING DISORDER THERAPY\nLive session has passed – RECORDING AVAILABLE \nMasterclass #2 will focus on important risk considerations for therapists who are providing therapies for people with eating disorders in private practice settings. The content will be relevant for mental health professionals and Dietitians\, and will include consideration of medical and re-feeding risks\, as well a self-harm and suicidality. \nMINDFULNESS STRATEGIES IN EATING DISORDER THERAPY\nMarch 25th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #3 will focus on the use of mindfulness strategies in eating disorder therapy\, particularly exploring approaches from Mindfulness Integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT)\, including body scanning to develop interoceptive awareness\, self compassion and equanimity. \nDIFFERENTIATING GUT HEALTH ISSUES FROM EATING DISORDERS\nApril 29th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #4 will explore strategies to assist therapists to differentiate gut health issues from eating disorder symptomatology. The webinar will be relevant to both Dietitians and Mental Health Professionals\, and will also focus on the Gut-Brain-Microbiome relationship\, and gastrointestinal issues commonly experienced by people with Eating Disorders. \nLGBTQIA+ AWARENESS FOR EATING DISORDER THERAPISTS\nMay 27th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #5 will assist eating disorder therapists to develop their understanding of issues relevant to working with clients from LGBTQIA+ communities\, including language\, identities\, and issues of body expression. The webinar will also focus on the principles of inclusive\, respectful care for clients with diverse perspectives \nWELLBEING NOT WEIGHT: PROVIDING RESPECTFUL\, WEIGHT INCLUSIVE THERAPIES\nJune 24th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #6 will explore strategies to focus on weight inclusive care which prioritises wellbeing rather than weight. The webinar will focus on understanding and providing alternatives to the dominant weight-centric health paradigm\, and addressing weight stigma and weight bias. \nCULTURAL CONSIDERATIONS IN EATING DISORDER THERAPY\nJuly 29th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #7 will focus on cultural considerations in eating disorder therapy including sensitivity when taking eating histories\, and strategies for respectfully understanding eating and body image issues within cultures and communities. The webinar will explore the principles of inclusive\, respectful care\, particularly as they relate to cultural diversity. \nADDRESSING SHAME IN EATING DISORDER THERAPY\nAugust 26th\, 2022 \nMasterclass #8 will explore strategies for addressing shame in Eating Disorder therapy\, with a particular focus on self compassion and cognitive behavioural approaches. The webinar will focus on how shame can manifest\, and how it can be directly targeted in therapy. \nSUPPORT V’S CHALLENGE: MAINTAINING MOMENTUM IN THERAPY\nSeptember 23rd\, 2022 \nMasterclass #9 will address the support v’s change continuum\, particularly as it relates to longer term therapeutic relationships.
