Having a Masters of Public Health Dr Ridley’s research focus is on substance use in rural areas\, psychiatry and substance use in palliative care\, and the impacts on female hormones on stimulant use. \nKelly enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and more recently for the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering cardiac arrest\, major trauma in both adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills\, REACT is a highly interactive workshop\, with participants predominantly involved in practical skill stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility:  All medical practitioners are welcome to register with priority given to currently practising rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days. 8.00am-5.00pm \nCost: $2\,200 (incl GST).\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service through the Better Medical Care Initiative. \nAccreditation: This workshop is pending accredited with RACGP and ACRRM. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service\, through the Better Medical Care Initiative

DESCRIPTION:Respecting our Rainbow workshops sponsored by Anglicare WA and Headspace Pilbara. \nAimed at supporting anyone who would like to be an active LGBTQIA+ ally. The workshop will\ncover basic LGBTIQA+ terminology and definitions\, and there will be discussion around current issues faced by the community. Gaya will then talk through ways you can actively support LGBTQIA+ people in your family\, friendship groups or wider community to ensure everyone can be themselves and partake equally in all aspects of life. \nWorkshop facilitator Gaya Surendorff is the Diversity and Inclusion Lead for Anglicare WA. Gaya has\nexperience working in both health and wellbeing\, as well as the diversity and inclusion areas\, and is a\npassionate advocate for Aboriginal and LGBTIQA+ human rights. They have experience working in\nseveral not for profit\, government and private organisations in roles that focus on bringing about\ngreater inclusion and equity for diverse community groups.
