SUMMARY:Recognising and Responding to Elder Abuse in Older Adults | Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Elder abuse is a serious public health and social issue\, estimated to effect 1 in 6 older adults in Western Australia. It can take many forms\, including financial\, social\, physical\, sexual\, psychological and emotional abuse\, and neglect\, and can occur in a range of different settings. Elder abuse can have ongoing health impacts on an individual\, such as physical injury\, poor mental health and increased risk of premature entry into residential aged care. \nAs with many forms of abuse\, it can be difficult for an individual experiencing elder abuse to speak out. SUMMARY:Digital Competencies for Health Service Managers: Empirical Findings and Systemic Implications | Online
DESCRIPTION:The Australasian College of Health Service Management is grateful to be able to welcome Mark Brommeyer AFCHSM CHM\, Senior Lecturer in Health Care Management\, Flinders University as our guest speaker for the ACHSM College live webcast 2025 series. \nAmidst the global backdrop of digitally transforming enterprises\, a research project has been completed that aimed to identify the competencies required for health service managers (HSMs) in managing and enabling digital transformation within the Australian healthcare context\, and organisational level strategies in contributing to the development of HSMs’ competency and capability. \nThe study adopted a qualitative approach\, guided by the empirically validated management competency identification process\, employing three steps: (1) health management and digital health competency mapping; (2) scoping review of literatures and policy analysis; and (3) focus group discussions (FGDs) with HSMs. The first two steps informed the design of the FGDs. \nThis presentation will provide empirical insights into the HSM workforce readiness and development needs for digital health\, and recommendations regarding the healthcare system\, policy\, organisational\, and local factors supporting HSMs in enabling digital health transformation. \nThroughout this live webcast you have the opportunity to submit your questions to Mark via our moderator for the live Q&A session following the main presentation\, the Q&A and webcast event will be moderated by ACHSM Board Director\, Prof Andrew Way AM FCHSM CHE. \nProgram:\n5mins     Introduction\n25mins   Presentation\n25mins   Live Q&A\n5mins     Thank you\, event concludes \nRegistration fee inc GST\nSingle ACHSM member: FREE\, registration essential\nSingle non-member $50\nGroup of 15 or less $99\nGroup of 15+ $199 \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER
